    Wilsus Juxta

The Wilsus Juxta is the non-wireless variant of the Wilsus Tradenda. Like the Wilsus Tradenda, the Wilsus Juxta is available in a standard lens variant with a 60-degree field of view and in a wide-angle lens variant with a 100-degree field of view. The standard lens variant of the Wilsus Juxta is additionally available as a WILSUS JUXTA CLOSE-FOCUS variant. The close-focus variant is supplied with 4 close-focus lenses (+1, +2, +4, and +8 diopters) and a special lens adapter that can be pushed onto the Wilsus Juxta like this and then remain perfectly in place. The close-focus lenses can then be screwed onto the lens adapter, making it very easy to choose the right lens for the desired focus distance. As a rule of thumb, you can assume that the focusing distance is approximately 1 divided by the diopter of the lens (in meters). So a close-focus lens of +4 gives a focusing distance of 1/4 = 0.25 meters. Without using the close-focus lenses, the minimum focusing distance of the Wilsus Juxta is about 1.5 meters (this applies to all wildlife cameras with a standard lens, by the way). In addition, the Wilsus Juxta features a number of smart settings that allow you to perfectly match the wildlife camera to the desired target. These include adjustable flash intensity and sensor sensitivity. Additional appointable specifications of the Wilsus Juxta are:

Wilsus Juxta | Independent review by Silvavir Ecology Consultancy

Since the summer of 2019 we have partnered up with Silvavir ecology consultancy. They perform standardized and objective reviews of trailcameras. We started this partnership to provide more insight into the differences and similarities between the cameramodels that are available on today's market, and to offer people a helping hand in choosing the right cameratrap. For this model there is no review available yet.

    Wilsus Juxta | Recommended accessories

All camera traps are supplied with a nylon strap for mounting, but without any other accessories. However, to get started with your cameratrap right away, you need at least a set of batteries and an SDHC memory card. For this model, this is a standard SDHC memory card of at least Class 10, such as the Sandisk Ultra cards. Additionally, we recommend to use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (not rechargeable), or the Panasonic Eneloop and Eneloop PRO rechargeable NiMH batteries. The advantage of the lithium batteries over the rechargeable Eneloop batteries is that the former are more resistant to winter temperatures. The disadvantage however, is that they are non-rechargeable. If you choose rechargeable batteries, think of the Everactive battery charger, in case you don't have a good battery charger in your house!

In addition to batteries and a memory card, there is a variety of other accessories available for this cameramodel. There are all kinds of special mounting materials such as tree forks and supports, but also accessories that ensure that the camera is placed more securely, such as a security enclosures or a python cable lock. You can select these accessories directly above and place your order as a bundle, but you can also view the complete overview of accessories here.

The Wilsus Juxta is available in two lens angle variants: the standard lens variant with a 60-degree angle of view (zoom lens) and the wide-angle lens variant with a 100-degree angle of view (wide angle). The standard lens variant is especially suitable for monitoring at longer distances (where animals usually pass by at more than 8 meters from the camera, while the wide-angle variant is especially good at short distances. The wide-angle variant gives a great overview precisely at the short distance and provides a longer trajectory of the animal through the image.
