Scoutguard SG562-BW
The Scoutguard SG562-BW is a unique and very interesting model for those who want to capture animals up close ('close-up'). With the 'dual focus' functionality it is possible to get sharp images (photo and video!) on a very short distance (40-80 cm) as well as on a longer distance (80-150 cm). In both cases you have a 'close focus' at your disposal. This is in contrast to the regular cameratraps, where the minimum focus point is about 150 cm. The Scoutguard SG562-BW is therefore known as a real 'birding camera', since the game camera is often used by bird lovers to capture nesting behaviour. However, the cameratrap is not limited to just capturing birds, but can also be used for capturing smaller mammal species (possibly in combination with the mostela or the so called 'Struikrover'). The invisible infrared flash makes sure that the camera is less likely to be spotted by the animals passing by just in front of it. Additional specifications of the Scoutguard SG562-BW that are worth mentioning:
- Detection range of 25 meters
- Flash range of 25 metres
- Maximum photo resolution of 12MP (interpolated; 5MP sensor)
- 720p HD video resolution (adjustable)
- Hybrid function (simultaneous photo and video mode)
- Time-lapse
Scoutguard SG562-BW | Physical characteristics
The Scoutguard SG562-BW has a compact and wood-coloured housing. Sometimes we come across this model as the Bolyguard SG562-BW. This is exactly the same camera, but this brand name is sometimes used by Bolyguard as well. On the right side there are two small clamps, in which the AA-batteries (8 pieces) and settings have to be entered. The 1.44 inch internal color viewer makes it possible to see live what the cameratrap is observing and to view images directly in the field. This makes the set-up of the cameratrap very easy! When using Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries, the wildlife camera can last for months.

Scoutguard SG562-BW | Alternatives

Scoutguard SG562-BW | Recommended accessories
All camera traps come standard without accessories. However, to be able to immediately start using your cameratrap, you will need at least a set of batteries and a SD memory card. In the case of the Scoutguard SG562-BW, it is a standard SDHC memory card. For this model we recommend using the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (non-rechargeable), or the Panasonic Eneloop or Eneloop PRO rechargeable batteries. The advantage of the lithium batteries over the rechargeable Eneloop batteries is that the former are more resistant to winter temperatures. If you choose rechargeable batteries, think of the Japcell 8-bank charger, in case you don't have a good battery charger in your house!
In addition to batteries and a memory card, there are all kinds of other accessories available for this cameratrap. For example, there are all kinds of special mounting materials, such as tree forks and brackets, but also accessories that ensure that the camera is placed more securely, such as a steel camera housing or a python cable lock. Above, you can add these accessories to your order as a bundle, but you can also view the complete list of accessories here.
