Reconyx HF2X HyperFire 2 (Outdoor)
The Reconyx HF2X is the outdoor model of the HyperFire 2 series, introduced in 2018. This trailcamera is full of new innovations and has a collection of good features, including an extremely fast trigger and recovery time for both photo and video! One of the new innovations is a new type of motion sensor with only one detection band that runs through the middle of the image. Needless to say, this new motion sensor has been extensively tested and achieves great quality, for which Reconyx is well-known. However, this change in motion sensor is not appreciated by everyone. Especially for professionals who already use the old HyperFire 1 models (e.g. HC600, PC900 and SC950) and want to compare results (camera footage). For this issue, the Reconyx HS2X and the Reconyx HP2X are the lifesaver, since both cameras are equipped with the same - and excellent working - motion sensor as the old Reconyx HyperFire 1 models. Just like the HS2X and the HP2X, the HF2X features an invisible IR flash. With the invisible IR flash the trailcamera is less likely to be noticed by both animals and humans, and thus minimizes disruption and the risk of theft or vandalism. Additional specifications of the Reconyx HF2X are:
- Detection range of 24 meter
- Flash range of 45 meter
- 1080 Full HD or 3MP photo resolution
- 720p HD video resolution
- Time-lapse

Reconyx HF2X HyperFire 2 | Recommended accessories
All camera traps are supplied without accessories. However, to get started with your cameratrap right away, you need at least a set of batteries and an SDHC memory card. For this model this is a standard SDHC memory card of at least Class 10, such as the Sandisk Ultra cards. Additionally, we recommend to use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (not rechargeable), or the Panasonic Eneloop and Eneloop PRO rechargeable NiMH batteries. The advantage of the lithium batteries over the rechargeable Eneloop batteries is that the former are more resistant to winter temperatures. The disadvantage however, is that they are non-rechargeable. If you choose rechargeable batteries, think of the Everactive 8-bank charger, in case you don't have a good battery charger in your house!
In addition to batteries and a memory card, there is a variety of other accessories available for this cameramodel. There are all kinds of special mounting materials such as tree forks and supports, but also accessories that ensure that the camera is placed more securely, such as a steel security enclosure or a python cable lock. You can select these accessories directly above and place your order as a bundle, but you can also view the complete overview of accessories here.
