Panasonic Eneloop rechargeable batteries are ideal for use in camera traps. In contrast to traditional rechargeable batteries, Eneloop batteries keep their voltage much longer. For example, an Eneloop battery still has 70% of its original charge after 5 years. Eneloop batteries are 4 times more powerful than normal alkaline batteries (such as the well-known Duracell battery), and Eneloop batteries can withstand low temperatures (down to -20 °C) much better. Eneloop batteries come in two versions, the standard white Eneloops and the black Pro version. The standard white version has a capacity of 2000 mAh while the Pro version has a capacity of 2550 mAh.

Eneloop maintains a voltage level of 1.1 Volts for a long period of time, and will only fall below this limit when at the end of its life cycle. Eneloop batteries have a voltage of 1.2V and a stated capacity of 2000 mAh for the standard version and 2550 mAh for the Pro version.
