Green Backyard Waterproof IP PoE Bird Box Camera With SD card storage | The Perfect Nesting Box Camera!
This nest box camera is perfect for mounting in the nest box of almost all types of birds, and can also be placed in a hedgehog's house. Naturally, other applications are also conceivable, particularly as this latest version is fully waterproof and can therefore be hung outside. This version of the hive camera has a network connection, enabling this hive camera to be directly connected to an Ethernet cable (or network cable / UTP cable). The power supply for the camera also runs via the network cable (PoE technology), so that ultimately only one cable needs to be laid to the camera's location (it is also possible to work with a separate power supply cable, but this is not supplied as standard). This way, you can watch a live stream of the hive in the app that comes with the camera. Images can also be recorded on an SD card in the hive camera (SD card not supplied as standard!). Finally, the hive camera automatically detects any changes in the image and can send an alarm message to the app on your phone based on the changes. So you get a notification if, for example, a bird or hedgehog is 'home' at that moment!
Green Backyard IP PoE Bird Box Camera With SD card storage | Appearance
This nest box camera is very small (4.6x4.6x4.3 cm) and comes with fasteners to mount the camera neatly in the nest box or hedgehog house. The focus of the lens is manually adjustable by turning the lens and has an angle of view of 102 degrees. You can then connect the nesting box camera to the PoE injector using the long 20-metre network cable. if the distances between the router, the camera and the PoE injector are greater than lengths of the supplied network cables, you can order an additional network cable here as a separate accessory. This network cable comes with a waterproof coupler, making it also usable outdoors. In total, the distance between the router and the nest box camera should not exceed 100 metres, due to signal loss.

Green Backyard IP PoE Bird Box Camera With SD card storage | Alternatives
This hive camera is ideal for almost any application! However, if you do not have the ability to lay a network cable, but you wél have access to a good WiFi connection at the place of placement, you can better opt for the WiFi model of this nesting box camera. This is the same camera, but with a WiFi connection. Are you looking for a similar system, but for outside the hive (so exposed to the weather), then take a look at the Green Backyard IP outdoor camera. It is waterproof and designed to be placed outside, for example aimed at a bird feeder or aimed at the entrance of a nest box or hedgehog house.
Green Backyard IP PoE Bird Box Camera With SD card storage | Accessories
This nest box camera comes standard with a 150 cm network cable and a 20-metre network cable. In addition, a PoE injector is included to provide power via the network cable, and of course all the mounting material needed to install the camera in a nest box, hedgehog house, or other indoor cage. It is therefore important to ensure an internet connection on site or at least near the camera. Should the distances to be covered be longer than the lengths of the supplied network cables, simply use an extra network cable (up to a maximum of 100 metres is recommended). If this does not work, there are alternative solutions, but that requires some more research (solar panels or external batteries as a power supply are an option, for example, and for the IP connection a 4G Router would be an option).
