Taking high-quality camera trap images with your DSLR camera is easier than ever with the Camtraptions PIR Motion Sensor. Connect the sensor to your camera and it will automatically trigger when an animal appears. The PIR V3 motion sensor comes standard with a Wireless Trigger Receiver. You need to connect it to your camera with a separately ordered camera connection cable. The camera connection cables can be found here.

PIR Motion Sensor Features:

• Simple to use and reliable. Use the sensor to monitor a wide subject area or use ‘blinkers’ to narrow the field of view for more precise control over the trigger zone.
• 6 x AA batteries provide around 3 months of standby time. This device works well with either Alkaline batteries or NiMH rechargeable batteries.
• Adjustable sensitivity helps limit false detections.
• Includes inbuilt camera controller with modes that expand creative possibilities.
• Supports still photography and video shooting with compatible cameras.
• Triggering options include number of shots fired per event, time delay between shots, adjustable wake delay and exposure time in bulb mode.
• Luminosity sensor allows you to alter the behaviour of your camera between day and night; shoot all of the time, only at night or only during the day.
• Front-facing LED indictor helps identify when the batteries need replacing and aids alignment when setting-up the sensor.
• Full compatibility with Camtraptions Camera Trap Flashes.

• A new integrated transmitter can wirelessly trigger cameras and wake flashes. The transmitter is compatible with Camtraptions Wireless Receivers.

• A new sensitivity algorithm, refined and improved over 18 months of field trials, delivers increased sensitivity, faster response time and fewer false detections.

• Full compatibility with Camtraptions Camera Trap Flashes.

• A total of 160 different programs for still and video shooting now provide more options than ever before. New programs include a keep awake feature to prevent equipment sleeping and an option to wake flashes wirelessly before triggering the camera. These new programs expand the range of cameras and flashes that can be used effectively in a camera set-up. Want to use a Sony or Fujifilm camera with wireless Nikon flashes – no problem!

Setting up a completely wireless camera trap could not be easier!

Simply plug the included Camtraptions wireless receiver in to your camera's shutter release socket and the PIR sensor will wirelessly trigger your camera when motion is detected.

If you want to use wireless flashes as well then you will need a separate wireless transmitter attached to your camera's hot shoe so that the flash burst will be synced with the shutter. The channel of the flash transmitter and receivers should different to the PIR sensor. Watch the video on this page to learn more.

Please note that camera connecting cables must be purchased separately. These are required to connect the PIR sensor or wireless receiver to your camera's shutter release socket. Canon, Nikon and Sony cables are available in our assortiment. These cables can be found here.
