Browning 2023 Dark Ops Pro X 1080
The Browning Dark Ops Pro X 1080 is the successor to the popular Browning 2019 Dark Ops HD PRO X. The 2019 Dark Ops Pro X is, alongside its countermodel, the 2019 Strike Force Pro X, the model most commonly used camera in combination with the Struikrover. This is precisely why we have extensively tested the new Pro X 1080 models in the Struikrover in collaboration with Matthijs Smaal. Fortunately, with this, a worthy successor was born, as the new Strike Force Pro X 1080 and the new Dark Ops Pro X 1080 perform excellently in the Struikrover! The Browning 2023 Dark Ops Pro X 1080 has a very fast reaction and recovery time, a high image resolution, a built-in colour viewer, and an integrated mounting bracket. And all that for a very competitive price! The trail camera is equipped with a completely invisible infrared flash, which makes this model the most suitable choice in places where theft or vandalism is a realistic threat. Also, for minimizing the risk of disturbance of passing animals, the invisible IR flash may be a good choice. One should realise, though, that cameras with an invisible infrared flash always produce a slightly lower quality nighttime footage as compared to a similar model with visible IR flash. Visible IR gives the images just a little better exposure and a slightly longer flash range than invisible IR flash. Additional specifications of the Browning Dark Ops Pro X 1080 are:
- Detection range of more than 30 meters (adjustable)
- Flash range of over 27 meters (adjustable)
- Maximum photo resolution of 24MP (interpolated)
- 1080p FULL HD video resolution (30 fps)
- Dynamic video function (Smart IR Video)
- Time-lapse function (only during daylight hours)
- Multilingual user interface, including English, Dutch, and German
- Capture timer, with which you can set a custom time frame to capture events

Browning 2023 Dark Ops Pro X 1080 | Recommended accessories
All camera traps are supplied with a nylon strap but without any further accessories. To get started with your camera trap right away, you need at least a set of batteries and an SD memory card. For this model, this is a standard SDHC or SDXC memory card of at least Class 10, such as the Sandisk Ultra cards. The maximum storage capacity for this camera is 512GB. In terms of batteries, we recommend to use the Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries (not rechargeable), or the Panasonic Eneloop or Eneloop PRO rechargeable NiMH batteries. The advantage of the lithium batteries over the rechargeable Eneloop batteries is that the former are more resistant to winter temperatures. The disadvantage, however, is that they are non-rechargeable. If you choose rechargeable batteries, don't forget to consider adding the Everactive battery charger, in case you don't have a good battery charger in your house!
In addition to batteries and a memory card, there is a variety of other accessories available for this camera model. There are all kinds of special mounting materials such as tree forks and supports, but also accessories that ensure that the camera is placed more securely, such as a security enclosure or a python cable lock. You can select these accessories directly above and place your order as a bundle, but you can also view the complete overview of accessories here.
